Many people would go so far as to argue that the chocolate chip cookie is Santa Claus’s favorite. One little girl I met recently insisted that you have to put chocolate chip cookies out before you go to bed on Christmas Eve, or Santa will just turn right around and go back up the chimney without leaving you a single present. So in case you find yourself cookie-less on Christmas Eve, you better whip up a batch of these chocolate chip cookies. Even if he can’t eat them, maybe Santa will be impressed by your ingenuity and creative spirit and leave that present you’ve got your heart set on.
With this final cookie pattern, I am ready to bring a platter of my crochet Christmas cookies to the company cookie exchange today. I can’t wait to see all their faces! I hope they like them. I’ll bring my camera and take lots of pictures to share with you later this week. See you then!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Crochet Pattern…
Finished size: 3” in diameter and about 1” tall
Gauge:
5 sc = 1 inch
5 rnds = 1 inch
Materials:
Small amount of worsted weight yarn in beige (Vanna’s Choice by Lion Brand in Beige)
Small amount of worsted weight yarn in brown (Vanna’s Choice by Lion Brand in Chocolate)
G-6 (4.00 mm) crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfill (about a golf-ball-size amount for each cookie)
Tapestry needle
For smiley face:
6 mm black safety eyes or small round black buttons
Black embroidery floss
Pattern Notes:
The bottom of the cookie is crocheted in joined rounds, while the top is crocheted in unjoined rounds. I found that this produces a cookie with a nicely domed top and a flat bottom.
Instructions:

Fasten off and weave in ends.
Top

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: * sc in next sc, 2 ch in next sc, rep from * 5 more times. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: * 2 sc in next sc, 2 ch in next sc, rep from * 5 more times. (24 sc)
Rnd 5: * 3 sc in next sc, 2 ch in next sc, rep from * 5 more times. (30 sc)
Rnd 6: * 4 sc in next sc, 2 ch in next sc, rep from * 5 more times. (36 sc)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
If you’d like to add a smiley face, I suggest doing so before you sew the top and bottom together.
Stack top and bottom together with RS facing out. Sew together along the edges using long tail from top. When you’re a little more than halfway around, stuff very lightly before sewing the rest together.
Embroider chocolate chips on the top.

These are very good, I have been making chocolate chip cookies too. But I have no idea why people encourage children to believe that Santa claus exists because he dosent, it is ridiculous. Amazing cookie pattern, thanks. X

Hi Clara! Don’t even get me started about the Easter Bunny! 😉 Isn’t it curious the things we’ve made up and made into tradition? I’m so glad you have enjoyed crocheting chocolate chip cookies.
