Thanks to everyone for crocheting Squirrel Picnic stuff and sharing your photos with me. Seeing your pictures really makes what I do worthwhile. Hodge and Podge are raising their tiny paws to salute you! We are especially thankful to the following awesome people: FrlBig, Grace W., Jenna W., Kate Z., Margie, MollyBean, purpledragoncrafts, Sharon, Sheila, and Tajana.

If there’s anyone I missed, I’m really sorry and I’d like to make it up to you in a future installment of You Made This! Please send a photo of your project to squirrelpicnic{at}gmail{dot}com.

You Made This August 2014

And with summer winding down, I’d also like to share with you some of the fantastic yarn-bombing that has been done using croshades. Lois and Susan — you ladies are hilarious! Thank you so much for making croshades and using them to add a bit of silliness to your world.

Croshades August 2014

A special thanks goes out to Sylvie and Becky for sporting croshades with me in the Venus de Miles bike race through Longmont last weekend. We had a blast and are looking forward to an even bigger Sunnies team next year.

  1. OMGoodness!! These are hilarious!!! Such wonderful pix, all of them!!! I saw a chicken in the pix that I must find! I love chickens and roosters. And those Croshades are to at least roll over for! Gotta make some so I can brighten my day here in the Midwest!!

    • Yay! I’m so glad these made you smile. Isn’t that chicken wonderful?! Jenna W. used my Rainbow Chicken pattern but crocheted the face on her own. She crocheted using two strands together (one black, one white) to get the mottled look. If you’re on Ravelry, you can find out more about it here. And, yes, you must make a pair of croshades! The fun with them never ends. I even take them on vacations. Be sure to send photos. They are a hoot!

  2. Oh Jennifer, that pussy cat with squirrel is sooo funny, it was fun to see the work people have done. I get a big kick out of seeing my pattern (in the yarn) too. yarn bombing croshades are wonderful on so many levels. XXX

    • Yay! I really love to see what people do, especially the fun they have with croshades. I have a few friends who are taking them on upcoming trips abroad. International croshade photos are very welcome… I could send you a pair, if you will promise to use them to yarn-bomb Australia and send me photos. I bet your son would get a kick out of them. 🙂

  3. Such awesomeness! How wonderful : )
